The AT897 high-performance shotgun stays out of the frame of wide shots
when mounted on today’s DV camcorders. NAB CONVENTION, LAS VEGAS, NV, April 19, 2004 — Audio-Technica is exhibiting the AT897 Line + Gradient Condenser Microphone, the latest offering in its extensive range of shotgun microphones. Designed for broadcast applications, film/TV/video production, and professional recording, the new AT897 is a short shotgun microphone intended to capture high-quality field audio in the most demanding situations. Its light weight and compact 11-inch length enable the AT897 to conveniently mount on a DV camcorder without adding noticeable heft, while remaining out of the frame on wide shots.
The AT897 condenser element features excellent on-axis response, while its Line + Gradient polar pattern provides exceptional sound rejection from the sides and rear of the mic. Operating on an internal battery (AA) or phantom power (9-48V, 2 mA), the rugged and lightweight AT897 is competitively priced, includes an integral low-frequency roll-off switch for reduced pick-up of unwanted sounds, and comes complete with a foam windscreen and stand adapter.
The AT897 microphone is currently available with an MSRP of $369.00.
