Talented Butterfly Boucher has friends in high places!

Fender® artist, Butterfly Boucher, has been getting loads of positive press lately. Following, is some more - written by Jason Moon Wilkins of "The Tennessean". ''It's been pretty much go, go, go since the beginning of the year and now I've just had a breather,'' Australian-born, Nashville resident and A&M records artist Butterfly Boucher says on a sleepy Tennessee spring Saturday morning. She has just returned from a two-month jaunt as an acoustic opener for the Barenaked Ladies.

Boucher (rhymes with voucher) is relishing this quick break, but she is eager to hit the road again. Her unstoppably catchy single, Another White Dash, is all over the radio and her visually arresting video has been picked up by MTV2, earning a slot in their coveted new artists series Advance Warning.

Her next tour is even bigger, longer and higher profile — a nearly four-month full band stint opening for Sarah McLachlan, who, it turns out, is responsible for more than just an amazing touring opportunity. She may have saved Butterfly's album.

Rewind back to early 2003. Newly signed do-it-yourself pop artist Butterfly (she plays nearly every instrument on her record) has emerged from Alex the Great studios in Berry Hill with an extremely successful session — ushered in by Nashville producers Brad Jones and Robin Eaton — that will make up the bulk of her debut Flutterby. Everyone who hears the record does back flips and critics start salivating about ways to describe this incomparable artist.

Flutterby could have been in the top 10 releases of last year but somewhere along the way, someone at her label put on the brakes.

Enter her unwitting savior McLachlan, who, as chance would have it, ended up sitting by Boucher's label head Jimmy Iovine at an industry shindig.

''She just said 'Don't screw it up,' '' as Boucher relates the story. ''I don't know if she eluded to the fact that she knew anything, but she was just like 'I'm really excited about this artist.' ''I wasn't there and I've never talked to Sarah about it, but that's what I've heard. I definitely have to ask her what she said (when I go on tour with her), because whatever she said was impacting.
