The AKG HEARO PLAYER delivers high-quality 8-channel surround sound when listening to music or movies or playing a high-tech computer game when using headphones with your PC. This innovative software plug-in has recently been upgraded and offers even more realistic surround effects.

The best news is that the HEARO PLAYER enhances your sound in a big way at a very low price: only $11.49--about the same price as a single CD or DVD! The HEARO PLAYER is a downloadable, plug-in version of the basic operating software from the AKG Hearo 999 processor. It delivers three-dimensional surround sound with two proprietary technologies: AKG's patented Individual Virtual AcousticsTM (IVA) and Lexicon's LOGIC7TM. It only works on PCs using Windows® Media Player 9 software and requires a good set of headphones (like AKG K 301XTRAs, K 171 Studio or K 101s) to deliver maximum performance.

AKG IVA TM eliminates "in-head localization" -- the phenomenon common with headphone listening when the audio “image” sounds as if it’s the size of your head. IVA TM takes the sound and opens it up into a 360o panorama with life-like imaging and depth. Lexicon's LOGIC7 TM gives you all the surround-sound effects of a room full of loudspeakers and it works with any stereo or surround-sound encoding format (including Dolby Pro Logic and Dolby Digital) to give you big, wide-open, movie-theater surround sound.

The HEARO PLAYER software adjusts itself so that it automatically maximizes the available processing power on your computer. You can also select between five different types of program EQ to customize the sound to your personal taste and the material you're listening to.
