Truth Audio Inks Deal with Wave Distribution

Wave Distribution, acclaimed distributor of high-end signal processing, sound reproduction, and music production tools, is proud to announce that the company has been appointed the exclusive worldwide distributor of Truth Audio loudspeaker products. Florida-based Truth Audio, Inc., manufactures a full line of passive and active near-field monitoring loudspeakers for professional recording studios. Truth Audio's newly released TA-1A active powered monitor loudspeaker, a follow-up to their acclaimed and popular TA-1P passive monitor, will be showcased at the 2001 AES in New York City, November 30 – December 3, 2001, booth #455.

The buzz about the new Truth Audio TA-1A Active Monitor is for good reason. The success of Truth Audio's TA-1P monitor is well documented, having been deployed in many top recording studios around the world. The TA-1P monitors are used by: SAE Recording College (Nashville, TN), Buddy Buie (Producer for 38 Special, Styx, and BB King), David Donaldson (Writer/ Engineer for Destiny's Child), Bootsy Collins, Greg Barnhill (Songwriter for Amy Grant, Brian White, Vince Gil), and Jay Gordon (lead vocalist and producer for Orgy, remix producer for Crazy Town and Korn), and many others.

The TA-1A consists of two 5-inch e woofers and one 1-inch dynamic tweeter offering a frequency response of 40Hz to 20kHz +/- 3dB. The power handling capability is rated at 160 watts into 4 ohms with all gold plated rear panel connectors. The TA-1A and the TA-1P both measure in at 10-inches high, 14.5-inches wide, 10-inches deep

Additionally, Wave Distribution will offer Truth Audio’s line of five monitor speakers on a worldwide level. Truth Audio’s TA-2P mid-field passive studio monitor features two 8-inch woofers and a 1-inch dynamic tweeter. The TA-2P measures 22-inches wide, 15-inches high, 15-inches deep and weighs 51 pounds. This cabinet features twin, front-mounted 2-inch tuned ports. The TA-2P offers an impressive frequency response of 30Hz to 20KHz with a power rating of 200 watts, single amped. The TA-2 series will also be offered in an active version known as the TA-2A, debuting at AES, as well.

Wave Distribution will also distribute Truth Audio’s new TA-SW Active Powered Sub. The TA-SW features one 12-inch driver and a custom amplification system featuring a continuous power rating of 250 Watts. The TA-SW subwoofer is designed to work with both the active and passive TA-1 near-field monitors as well as the active or passive TA-2 mid-field series monitors for 5.1 and 6.1 surround sound applications, as well as all monitor applications. The TA-SW12A has a frequency response of 32Hz sweepable to 160Hz. The TA-SW is a sealed enclosure measuring 15-inches wide, 18-inches high, 18 inches deep and weighs 60 pounds.

Michael Boyd, President of Truth Audio has this comment about the Truth Speaker line: "We have found that most speakers on the market today do not offer ample headroom. This limits their ability to handle transients needed for accurate monitoring. You will find that all Truth Audio monitors, both passive and active, are non-fatiguing. This is true even at high sound pressure levels over extended periods of time."
