Quik-Lok, the world's largest manufacturer of musical instrument stands, exclusively distributed by Music Industries Corp., is proud to announce that Benjamin Stivers, keyboardist for Matchbox 20, is the latest high-profile musician to show his support for Quik-Lok Systems.
Wrapping up two years of touring that took the Benjamin and the band to Japan, Europe, Australia and twice across the United States, Benjamin notes, “My Quik-Lok QL-642, heavy duty, double-braced, ‘X’ stand is still in the same condition as if it just came off of the music store showroom floor.”
Benjamin’s keyboard tech, Bruce Hendricks, states, “We had started the tour with an endorsement from another stand manufacturer, but we soon realized that the functionality and reliability was simply not there. With the other stand, if you made one simple adjustment, you could easily send the keyboards crashing to the ground. If every knob was not securely tightened, again, the stand could simply collapse. It finally got to the point that Benjamin and I had no confidence in those stands, and that’s when we decided to replace them with Quik-Lok. With Quik-Lok stands, you set them up in 15 seconds and they can support a truck.”
Benjamin adds, “I have a very heavy playing style and the Quik-Lok stands provide a rock solid foundation under my keyboards, even when I am leaning my entire body weight into the keyboards and stand. With the pounding I give my gear each night, I know my keyboards are going to still be in the same position at the end of a two hour set, and gone is the fear that the stand could collapse at any given moment. When you trust your gear, you’re just that much better of a musician and performer when the band hits the stage.”
So reliable was the Quik-Lok QL-642 two-tier stand, Benjamin notes, “I use one QL-642 onstage and we travel with a replacement, just in case. Quik-Lok has been such a dependable, rugged and reliable stand for me, we never had to even use the second QL-642 and we wrapped up the tour with it never coming out of the factory box.”
