Following the release of the critically acclaimed Toft ATC-2, PMI Audio Group announced this week that they are now shipping two new models, the EC-1 and DC-2. Effectively functioning as a entire "channel strip", the EC-1 combines mic pre, FET compressor, and EQ into a single rack space unit with a sculpted aluminum face plate. Signal flow begins with a high quality mic pre with 48 volt Phantom Power, Phase Reverse, Mic/Line switch, and a ¼" instrument level input. The "highly musical" EQ includes four bands of sweep, and can be placed "pre" or "post" compressor in the signal chain or switched off entirely. The FET compressor provides extensive control with Attack, Release, Ratio, and Output (Make Up Gain) controls. Metering is accomplished via a circular VU, with a switch to view either Output level or Gain Reduction. Retail pricing is set at $799.

The DC-2 is a dual channel unit featuring classic FET compression, once again housed in a single rack space chassis with a sculpted aluminum face plate. Front panel controls allow for Input Level, Attack, Release, Ratio, and Output Level (Make Up Gain). Dual circular VU meters can show either Output Level or Gain Reduction. An instrument level input of the front panel allows direct connection of electric guitars, bass, etc. Rear panel connections are available for balanced or unbalanced ¼" line, or balanced XLR, In and Out. Retail price - $799.

Toft Audio Designs products are direct descendents of Malcolm Toft's early work for Trident, carrying on the tradition of excellence in audio.
