As a tribute to Peavey's legacy of craftsmanship, quality and innovation in musical instruments and sound equipment, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Biloxi will construct the tallest Hard Rock sign in the world in the shape of a Peavey guitar. The replica will tower 112 feet above Biloxi and the Gulf of Mexico.
Not just any guitar, either, and not in just any place: the Biloxi casino's beachfront sign will replicate the new HP Signature™ guitar, named for Peavey's founder and sole owner, Hartley Peavey, and Hard Rock Biloxi is scheduled for completion during 2005, the 40th anniversary of fellow Mississippi-based Peavey Electronics Corporation.
"We are very excited about our relationship we have developed with Peavey and their involvement with our project," says Joe Billhimer, President and COO of Hard Rock Biloxi. "The Mississippi-based company is known throughout the world as one of the best in the music industry for musical instruments and sound equipment, and we are pleased to be associated with such a prestigious company. It’s a great opportunity for everyone involved."
Hartley Peavey adds, "Peavey is synonymous with both music and Mississippi, and it's an honor to be involved with Hard Rock in Mississippi. We're proud to celebrate our 40th anniversary with Hard Rock, another world-class, highly respected name in rock 'n' roll."
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi is owned and operated by Premier Entertainment Biloxi, LLC, d/b/a Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Biloxi. The $235 million project will include a Hard Rock-themed casino with 1,500 slot machines and 50 table games, four restaurants including a Hard Rock Café, a full-service spa, 11-story hotel with 306 rooms and suites, a unique Hard Rock-themed beach pool, a 1,200-capacity entertainment venue and retail shops.
