Fender Dreadnoughts Added to "Grand Series"(Fender | Posted 2002-01-02) Fender Musical Instruments Corporation (FMIC) will add three models to its recently introduced and highly acclaimed Fender Grand Series acoustic guitars this winter, with the its very first Dreadnoughts, the Fender Grand Dreadnoughts GD-47S, GD-47SCE and GD-47S12. These models continue to build on the features that made the Grand Auditorium Series one of 2001’s best selling line of acoustic guitars: high quality workmanship and materials, stunning looks and exceptional playability.
“As with the previous Grand Series guitars we’ve introduced,” says Ron Kronewitter, marketing manager for Fender Acoustics, “our Grand Dreadnought models are the product of a collaborative effort between Fender and Guild designers. Our goal with this entire series is to create instruments that are designed for serious players of any ability, but affordable for players who have never had the opportunity to play instruments of this quality.”
Adds Kronewitter, “These guitars round out a truly great family of instruments. The reactions we’ve received on the Grand Series has been amazing, and we’ve gotten a lot of requests to add Dreadnoughts to the series. Now they’re available, and like the rest of the Grand Series they offer great playability, outstanding sound and value for guitarists.”
