Korg D-1200mkII and ELECTRIBE•MX Deliver the Goods for Tripp Eisen of Static-X Press Release 2005-01-03
Static-X has hooked listeners with an enticing amalgam of techno, industrial and metal notes overlaid on a solid guitar rock core. The band’s frequent touring, including appearances at Ozzfest and on the Family Values Tour, has kept Static-X’s steady issuance of new material at the musical forefront.
Always seeking new means for expression, the band’s guitarist, Tripp Eisen, has found a straightforward and enjoyable way to cut demos, with the Korg D1200mkII Digital Recording Studio. Acclaimed for its flexible, intuitive operation, it enables Eisen to readily translate his latest ideas into high-quality audio files. Eisen relates, “It allows me to demo things right to a CD. Being able to record lots of takes is useful and exciting while working out new songs.” He adds, “The 1200mkII is very much a mix of the traditional and the new in home demoing. It’s very fun and quick to use.”
For further musical explorations, the Korg ELECTRIBE•MX Music Production Station has provided Eisen with a massive bank of sounds and beats to build on, along with tremendous capabilities for effortless manipulation. Eisen explains how it beckons experimentation: “The ELECTRIBE•MX is very versatile, and as a beginner with programming and synthesizers, I found that it really helped me along.”
Eisen has returned to the studio with Static-X and producer Ulrich Wild (Incubus, Pantera, P.O.D., Soundgarden, Deftones) to record the band’s fourth full studio album. For updates and other news, please visit www.static-x.com.
