Jan. 20, 2005, ANAHEIM, Calif. (Winter 2005 NAMM exhibit #5740)*Peavey proudly introduces six newly redesigned CS Series power amplifiers, the two-channel CS 1400, CS 2000, CS 3000, CS 4000 and CS 4080 HZ, plus the four-channel CS 800x4.

Building on the reputation of the world-famous Peavey CS 800, which conquered the power amp market in the 1970s, the CS Series is the global standard bearer for workhorse reliability. Over the years, these amps have benefited from some of Peavey's most popular audio innovations, including our exclusive DDT* compression/anti-clipping protection. With its 2RU design and power points up to 4080 Watts, this latest evolution of the CS Series is leaner, louder and lighter than ever.

Peavey is giving the pro audio world even more reasons to choose the CS Series, including 14 power transistors per channel on the CS 3000, CS 4000 and CS 4080, nearly twice the number found in more expensive competitors. The four-channel CS 800x4 gives you twice as much power for the dollar and utilizes wire-bonded hybrid technology, while the CS 1400 and CS 2000 are built with overgrown heat sinks for more efficient tunnel cooling. All CS power amps include toroidal power transistors for lighter weight and increased power.

The front panel display includes LED indicators for signal presence and DDT active, as well as individual power LEDs that extinguish under fault conditions. CS amps also feature circuitry to protect against shorts, improper loads, abrupt turn-on levels, high temperatures, DC and subsonic frequencies that could damage loudspeakers. To ensure cool operating temperatures, we've included two dual-speed cooling fans on the CS 1400 and CS 2000; two variable-speed cooling fans on the CS 3000, CS 4000 and CS 4080 HZ; and one variable-speed cooling fan on the CS 800x4. CS amps ship with XLR-1/4" combination inputs; binding post, SpeakonR and IEC mains connector outputs; and our strong five-year warranty.

The new CS Series power amplifiers will be available from authorized Peavey dealers in 2005.
