North American musical instrument and sound reinforcement retailers have honored Peavey with four Music & Sound Awards, including Manufacturer of the Year for 2004. The 19th annual Music & Sound Awards, presented by Music & Sound Retailer magazine, also recognized Peavey with Instrument Amplifier of the Year for its JSX* guitar amp-co-designed with legend Joe Satriani-as well as Best New Power Amplifier for the redesigned PV* 2600. Longtime Peavey sales representative Gregg Wilson also won the award for Rep of the Year. Peavey has won Manufacturer of the Year in three of the past four years, and Best New Power Amp for three years straight.

"It's great to be rewarded for your hard work," says founder and sole owner Hartley Peavey, "and our dedicated engineering, manufacturing and sales folks have done an exemplary job getting consistently innovative products to market each year. Everyone at Peavey appreciates this resounding approval from our retailers."

During his first 40 years as a music industry pioneer, Hartley has developed forward-thinking technologies for amplifier design, loudspeakers, mixers and more, and introduced the use of computer-controlled machinery in guitar manufacturing. In addition, Peavey has remained loyal to his network of independent retailers while adhering to a pricing philosophy that finally made pro-quality gear affordable to all musicians.

Testa Publications, publisher of Music & Sound Retailer and other audio trade magazines, produces the Music & Sound Awards during the annual NAMM Expo. The Music & Sound Awards recognize outstanding technological advances, as well as musical instrument and pro sound equipment sales in the multi-billion dollar music retail industry, and are chosen by retailers in the U.S. and Canada.

Now celebrating its 40th anniversary as one of the largest manufacturers of musical instruments and professional sound equipment in the world, Peavey holds more than 130 patents and produces more than 2,000 products, which are distributed throughout the United States and to 136 other countries.
