
Parker Guitars Present Country Music Legend Merle Haggard with a Southern NiteFly for his 68th Birthday

Parker Guitars presented a Southern NiteFly to Merle Haggard in honor of his contribution to country music on his 68th birthday. Merle performed on tour with Bob Dylan at the Auditorium Theater in Chicago Wednesday night.
Merle Haggard is considered to be a living legend in the country music scene. His first album, Strangers, was released in 1965 and he has since released well over two hundred records. Merle was nominated for the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame in 1977 and elected into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1994. With thirty eight #1 songs, forty four Country Music Award nominations, and Grammy awards, Merle Haggard is one of the most influential singer/songwriter’s in country music history. Merle also takes pride in being the only male country music performer featured on the cover of Downbeat Magazine.
Currently, Merle plays the Parker Fly Deluxe and Fly Classic. “Merle is a country icon, and the opportunity to present him with Parker’s newest guitar was an absolute honor,” said John Vitale, Director of Artist Relations for Parker Guitars.
