Paiste Expands Signature Class

Paiste Expands Signature Class

Press Release

2005-05-08

Paiste announces the addition of several models to its Signature family of cymbals, which includes the Signature, New Signature and Traditionals series.

SIGNATURE
Signature Series cymbals were introduced over 15 years ago, when Paiste created an entirely new series of cymbals from its patented Signature Bronze alloy. Signature cymbals embody the sum total of the richness, full sound, superior quality and versatility that are characteristic for Paiste. With Signature Cymbals, Paiste has captured the hearts and musical souls of countless professional drummers, who remain loyal fans of this incredible cymbal series to this day.

In 2005, the Signature Series is being augmented by 22" Full, Mellow and Dry Rides to reflect recent trends towards larger Rides. The 20" and 22" Dark Metal Rides join the series to offer a contemporary, heavy Rock/Metal Ride featuring Signature character and quality. The Ex-Exotic/Percussion models 20" Flanger Ride, 12" Flanger Bell and 13" Mega Cup Chime join the series as a result of the reorganization of Paiste’s overall cymbal program.

NEW SIGNATURE
The New Signature Class was inaugurated in 2004 with the introduction of Dark Energy cymbals. The concept for this class of cymbals allows Paiste ultimate artistic freedom in the creation of cymbal sound, calls for full concentration on the individual cymbal’s characteristics and envisions complete freedom from the sonic constraints of a series personality.

In 2005, Paiste expands the New Signature Class by adding a Dark Energy Mark I Splash in 8" and 10" sizes, as well as a Dark Energy Mark I Crash in 20" size. Moving beyond the initial group of cymbals in the Dark Energy character, Paiste also adds two Ride models, the 20” Dark Dry Ride Mark I and the 20” Light Dark Ride Mark I. Both Rides are superb Jazz cymbals with dark, complex harmonics. They are light in weight, extremely musical, and very controllable. Signature and New Signature cymbals are entirely made by hand in Switzerland using traditional methods that have remained unchanged in over half a century.
