Korn's Head & S. Baldwin Push God on 50 Cent

Korn's Head & S. Baldwin Push God on 50 Cent

Heavy metal guitarist Brian "Head" Welch might have quit the super-successful rap/rock band Korn to find God, but Head's newfound spirituality isn't keeping him from doing crazy rock 'n roll things. Case in point: he's started up a new record label called Livin' It Records with actor/born-again-Christian Stephen Baldwin. In the August issue of Guitar World magazine which hits newsstands tomorrow, Head says he and Baldwin are planning for some pretty outrageous church outings. "I want it to be like a concert: people rocking out to good music, and skateboarders going off at the same time the music is. We'll have dirt bikes and extreme sports. Me and Baldwin are talking about having motorcycles jump over me while I'm doing a show." Holy God!

But in a move that could crazier than partnering with Stephen Baldwin (or any Baldwin brother for that matter), Guitar World reports that Head is trying to convey God's message to hardcore hip-hopper 50 Cent via a new song entitled "A Cheap Name," to be featured on the guitarist's upcoming debut solo album. Head tells Guitar World: "In my video for 'A Cheap Name," I'm playing a game with the rappers. It might seem a little arrogant, but the way you need to work in the world today is to pass along wisdom and knowledge through music. The second verse goes, 'You're nowhere near the teachings of Martin Luther King. Did you forget all about his dream now? It's time you choose. The wrath is here. Think back to 9/11, it's so clear. I sing for your people you failed here. There is no excuse.'"

Head goes on to say: "The stuff that 50 is saying isn't helping anybody. The kids that live in the 'hood are suffering. I'm not going after 50; I'm doing it because I love people, and he's not making things better for those kids at all."

Let's hope Fiddy's got his Bible handy.
