New Yamaha UD Stomp Delay Modeler

In the tradition of technology that includes the acclaimed DG Stomp and AG Stomp, Yamaha Guitars will debut the latest addition to its line of compact, innovative "stomp box" products-the UD Stomp guitar effects processor-at Winter NAMM 2002.
Designed for analog and digital environments, the UD Stomp provides the ultimate in modulation and delay for studio or gigging musicians without the inconvenience of carrying multiple processor units or racks. The Yamaha UD Stomp carries a suggested retail price of $649 and will be available in February.
The unit features a total of 180 sound programs (90 Preset/90 User) and eight bands of individual delay, with up to 700 milliseconds of delay available when set in Series, and up to 5.5 seconds in Parallel. Delay parameters include Time, Loop Filter (Hi/Lo Cut), Feedback, Tap, Pan, and Level. Patches were programmed by prominent producers and guitarists, including fusion virtuoso Allan Holdsworth, who calls the UD Stomp his "dream box."
"The UD Stomp, like other Yamaha stomp box products, is a logical extension of 'all in one box' technology, and that should be appealing to both guitar players and dealers," states David Bergstrom, director of marketing, Yamaha Corporation of America, Combo Group.
The UD Stomp allows real-time control for parameters, with four built-in footswitches and control knobs which change patches in Group/Bank/Number format and also control Effect On/Off and MIDI programs, making it the perfect addition to any live performance rig. In the studio, the MIDI IN/OUT transforms the UD Stomp into a powerful MIDI pedal board.
Other features include: an expression pedal input for additional effects control; balanced 1/4-in. stereo outputs (XLR to 1/4-in. adapters included) for hotter signal/noise ratio; a headphone output for practice-or additional stereo output; and a digital output for clean, direct recording from the digital circuitry (44.1 kHz output in Coaxial format) to a digital recorder without signal degradation.
"Another 'first' for the Yamaha stomp box family," states Gary Cook, product manager, Guitar Products. "The UD Stomp is like having eight of the world's greatest rackmount delays in one rugged package."
Constructed with a sturdy metal stomp box design, the UD Stomp features an angled top, which keep the user's foot from getting in the way of knobs and controls.
