Mackie DFX•6 and DFX•12 Mixers Press Release 2002-02-15
Mackie Designs Inc. (NASDAQ: MKIE), today announced a new family of compact mixers that combine Mackie's exceptional high headroom sound quality with an extensive feature set to define a whole new performance benchmark for entry-level mixers. Ideally suited for the gigging musician, the compact DFX series includes two mixers-the DFX•6 ($379 MSRP, U.S.) and DFX•12 ($479 MSRP, U.S.). Both models will be available at Mackie dealers in Q1, 2002.
The new DFX mixers are designed specifically for solo or small performing groups that don't have the luxury of a front-of-house sound technician-those die-hard do-it- yourselfers that manage their own set-up and tear-down while possessing the uncanny ability to simultaneously make music and control their own audio mix. All knobs are color-coded and can be easily identified at a glance. Channel faders are white. Effects and Monitor Sends are red. Master level faders are blue. The jack field is on the top surface so connections are immediate and every channel has a Level Set and Overload LED that can be effortlessly seen on a dark stage.
Extremely easy to use, these new mixers are also equipped with all of the same features that have made Mackie mixers the standard for working musicians. Both new DFX include a combination of mic/line and stereo line inputs, silky smooth 60mm faders, and Mackie Designs' proprietary 32-bit EMAC( custom digital effects processor with 16 effects. Each mixer also offers low-noise, low-distortion, studio-grade, 5-band stereo program equalizers wrapped in a box rugged enough to withstand years of on-the-road wear and tear.
"The new DFX mixers are a great addition to our existing product line," stated Ivan Schwartz, Corporate Director, Global Sound Reinforcement Product and Market Development at Mackie Designs Inc.
