The Mix Foundation for Excellence in Audio has nominated the Peavey CS 4000 power amplifier for a Technical Excellence & Creativity (TEC) Award in the category of Outstanding Technical Achievement in Amplifier Technology. The 21st Annual TEC Awards will be held October 8 in New York.

Building on the reputation of the world-famous Peavey CS 800, which conquered the high-powered amp market in the 1970s, the stalwart CS Series is the global standard bearer for workhorse reliability. The CS 4000 is built with 14 power devices per channel, nearly twice the number found in more expensive competitors, and uses toroidal power transformers for lighter weight and increased power. To ensure cool operating temperatures, the CS 4000 includes two variable-speed cooling fans. The amp also features circuitry to protect against shorts, improper loads, overdriven turn-on levels, high temperatures, DC and subsonic frequencies that could damage loudspeakers; and features front-panel display LEDs for signal presence and DDT active, as well as individual power LEDs that indicate fault conditions. CS amps ship with XLR-1/4" combination inputs; binding post, SpeakonR and IEC mains connector outputs; and our strong five-year warranty.

In addition to the CS 4000, the new four-channel CS 800x4 utilizes wire-bonded hybrid technology and can power four monitor mixes from a single unit, while the CS 4080 HZ delivers an astonishing 4080 watts at 8 ohms*making it possibly the most powerful subwoofer amplifier on the market.
