Fostex VF160 Digital Multitracker Improved!

Fostex VF160 Digital Multitracker Improved!

Fostex

Posted 2005-09-09

Did you know that Fostex has improved their VF160 Digital Multi-track recorder? Greater software reliability and faster CD writing/reading make this popular digital studio even better. Built-in CDR drive provides one-stop convenience. The recording engine features a total of 16 tracks, plus 8 virtual tracks. Simultaneous 16-track recording (using 8 analog ins and ADAT light pipe for additional 8) to a large-capacity 40GB Maxtor hard disk gives you hours of recording time, and FDMS-3 technology enables more efficient disk and CPU usage for more track minutes without data compression, plus faster editing and DSP operations. Its superb digital mixer provides 60mm faders for all 16 channels, 3-band EQ with parametric mid and high, master EQ, channel and master compressors, 8 mic inputs, ADAT optical I/O, 2 effect sends and 2 aux sends per channel, and 99 mix scene memory. It also comes with 2 independent multi-effects DSPs including a preset library with great effects. Other special new features include Scrub Zoom, Fader Pairing, Channel Solo, BPM Delay, Event Map Locate, and Locate to Last Rec Point.

Check out what a few of our readers had to say about the VF160...

Roadie's Roadshow writes: Awesome step up for somebody who is beyond a 4-track but not ready for a whole-hog Protools or Digi001 type rig. A solo recording person will never run out of tracks on this thing. A person who does most of their work on a computer could probably find a better tool, but for a guitar-player/keyboard player/singer like me, it's perfect.

The Professor writes: If you are looking for recording gear, look no further than the VF160...you will not regret it

Rusty Chapman writes: I have enjoyed using this machine, and It has helped me to compose original music by allowing me to lay down a drum track, then go back in,using the pod direct, and with a minimum of setup time, lay down bass and guitar sometimes making up parts as I go along. I have never been able to do that before. This machine has opened me up to composing.
