Eventide Hits the Road with HD Surround Workshop

Eventide Hits the Road with HD Surround Workshop

Press Release

2005-10-04

Eventide announced today its H8000 Ultra-Harmonizer eight-channel effects processor will be the primary effects engine for the 2005 HD Surround for the Music & Broadcast Production Road Tour, presented by Fits & Starts Productions, LLC. The northeast leg of the Tour will feature the H8000 Ultra-Harmonizer in its HD surround sound tutorial designed for audio professionals, students and broadcasters.

“Surround sound is quickly becoming a mandatory skill for today’s audio and broadcast professionals and we’re very happy Eventide has joined us to help educate the industry,” said Hector La Torre, managing partner of Fits & Starts. “With HD surround, powerful effects processing is more important than ever and for over three decades Eventide has set the bar for audio effects processing. The Eventide H8000 is an enormously versatile tool and we’re pleased to make it the primary effects processor for all phases of the workshop tutorial.”

The H8000 will be used in miking demonstrations to show how to create ambiance when doing live recordings. In addition, the H8000 will provide the backbone of effects in the mixing and finishing techniques demonstrated. With 1,588 presets, each its own unique algorithm, the H8000 will provide the workshop a virtual endless array of effects possibilities.

According to La Torre, technologies advance so rapidly that it’s difficult for professionals to keep pace. The workshop was designed to give attendees a solid working understanding of HD surround so that they can go back to their studios and broadcast facilities and instantly utilize the knowledge gained.

The Northeast Tour will make six stops at some of the region’s leading educational institutions for music and audio engineering. Each tour stop offers an intense three-hour tutorial workshop and Q&A session in HD surround production, from recording and mixing to finishing. Admission is free and open to audio professionals, students and broadcasters seeking a greater understanding of the HD surround production process.

The Tour schedule includes stops on:

- September 28th – Society of Broadcast Engineers Expo, Turning Stone Resort (Verona, NY)
- September 29th – Cayuga Community College (Auburn, NY)
- October 3rd – William Paterson University, Music Dept. (Wayne, NJ)
- October 4th – NYU Tisch School (New York, NY)
- October 5th – Institute of Audio Research (New York, NY)
