Toft Audio Designs Announces New Consoles Press Release 2005-10-05
Toft Audio Designs announced this week new consoles based on Malcolm Toft’s early designs for Trident Audio Developments. Dubbed the ADB (pun intended) the new boards will mimic the look and share many of the features of it’s “namesake”, the Trident 80B, but will be built on a smaller scale, for integration into DAW based systems.
The first model (ADB-16) will be 16 X 8 X 2, with inline monitoring, allowing a total of 56 inputs during mixdown. 24 and 32 channel versions are slated to follow shortly thereafter.
Other features include high quality Burr-Brown mic preamplifiers, 100mm faders, 4 Auxiliary Sends, real 80B EQ (the same circuit as the legendary console) , and an optional Digital Card, with 8 channels of 24Bit A/D and D/A, Firewire, ADAT, SPDIF, Word Clock, and MIDI implementation.
“The design is the perfect convergence of classic analog circuitry and modern, computer-ready technology,” Stated Alan Hyatt, CEO of PMI Audio Group (manufacturer/ distributor for Toft) “The feature set was solidified following an extensive meeting with a focus group made up of a mix of industry professionals and semi-pro end users. We anticipate the demand for this console to be very high.”
Toft Audio Designs is exclusively distributed in the United States by PMI Audio Group, Gardena, California.
