Joemeek Adds Two Studio Channels to New Product Line

Press Release

2005-10-07

This year at AES, Joemeek unveiled two new studio channels (the oneQ and sixQ) bringing to a total of 4 channels available from the veteran manufacturer. Featuring high quality Burr/ Brown front ends, sculpted aluminum faceplates and sporting the instantly recognizable “Joemeek Green” color, the new range of products target both the home/ desktop computer and professional recording markets.

The oneQ ($799 List - Shown) is a single channel Mic Pre/ Optical Compressor/ with De-Esser, and Enhancer and is the most technologically advanced Joemeek product ever. Housed in a 2u rack mount chassis, the oneQ’s “feature rich” topology incorporates a number of new and innovative features, such as an “Iron” switch, which alters the preamplifier circuit from solid state to transformer coupled, and digital outputs (AES/EBU, SPDIF optical, SPDIF coaxial) for interfacing with DAW’s, etc. Inputs are available for Mic, Line (balanced and unbalanced) and Instrument. The large, oval VU meter provides easy monitoring of input level, output level, or gain reduction.

The sixQ ($599 List) is a single channel (1u) unit incorporating Mic Pre (with “Iron”), 3 Band EQ, and Optical Compressor. Inputs are available for Mic, Line, Instument (1/4”), and Insert (for even more processing. Analog outputs are XLR (balanced) ¼” (balanced or unbalanced). In the digital domain, there’s a 24bit AD converter built-in with SPDIF Optical and Coaxial connectors.

Also new this year are JM37 and JM37-DP condenser microphones. Featuring large, 1.035” gold sputtered diaphragms, and built into compact machined brass bodies, the 37 Series is capable of maximum SPL’s exceeding 125dB, making them useful for recording everything from voice to electric guitar.

Joemeek is exclusively distributed in the United States by PMI Audio Group, Gardena, California.
