Lovehammers and Washburn Guitars Show their Chicago pride at the opening of Game 1 ALDS White Sox Game Press Release 2005-10-17
Lovehammers singer and Rockstar INXS alum, Marty Casey, guitarist Billy Sawilchik, bassist Dino Kourelis opened the American League Division Series at U.S. Cellular Field performing with custom made Washburn White Sox Guitars. Both Lovehammers and Washburn Guitars are based out of Chicago and are rooting for their home team in hopes of a World Series Championship.
"We're all Southside Chicago White Sox fans and it was a surreal experience to play before a playoff game - I think we were good luck for the White Sox and we should continue to open every game until the White Sox win the World Series" said Lovehammers guitarist Billy Sawilchik.
The Lovehammers are now one of the most sought after bands to come out of Chicago because of their hit single "Trees" that made its national debut for millions across America on the hit TV reality series, Rockstar: INXS. Singer Marty Casey was the runner-up on the show and as a result, the Lovehammers were offered the opportunity to open for the INXS World tour beginning January 2006.
"The Lovehammers are one of the hardest working Chicago bands we know with a tremendous amount of talent. We are honored that they chose to play Washburns to open for the hardest working baseball team in Major League baseball." said Kevin Lello, Director of Marketing for Washburn Guitars.
