SAE Institute Nashville Graduate Earns "Rising Star" Regional Emmy Nomination

SAE Institute, the world’s largest network of professional audio, video and multimedia education facilities, is pleased to announce the “Rising Star” Midsouth Regional Emmy Award nomination of recent graduate Chad Shambaugh. The award, sponsored by the Tennessee Film, Entertainment and Music Commission, is presented to an industry professional in the audio field who shows extraordinary promise based on their body of work and standards set forth by The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

Shambaugh, a 2004 Audio Technology graduate of SAE Institute’s Nashville campus, became focused on the sound-for-picture and sound design production fields while attending SAE’s rigorous nine month program. Upon graduation, Shambaugh worked closely with the job placement department to find a position suited to the specific interests and goals he had developed throughout the course of his studies, and was soon employed by 615 Music in Nashville. Since his hiring Shambaugh has been involved in the production, engineering and mastering of national commercial jingles and theme music for various major television networks including MSNBC, Animal Planet, The Food Channel and HGTV, as well as music for the hit TV shows The Today Show and Live with Regis and Kelly.

“It’s quite an honor to be nominated for the Rising Star award, especially after being on the job less than a year,” Shambaugh states. “While at SAE I was able to get a strong background in many different aspects of the recording industry which has helped get me to where I am today. My interest in the sound-for-picture industry was matched by the job placement department’s knowledge and relationships with local studios, which led me to my current position as SADiE Editor/Mastering Engineer/Sound Designer here at 615 Music.”

Tom Misner, SAE Institute Founder and CEO, commented on the recent nomination, “Once again, an SAE graduate has been distinguished as a top professional amongst their peers, clearly marking the characteristic success which our students, as well as industry professionals, have come to realize. SAE’s universally specialized Audio Technology programs teach the fundamental curriculum needed to excel in today’s highly-competitive music and audio production markets, as well as encouraging the creative application of attitude and technology necessary to succeed.”

The Winner will be announced at an awards ceremony at Renaissance Hotel in Nashville, TN on January 28, 2006
