Gibson USA will dazzle NAMM attendees this week by unveiling 15 new models for 2006. Utilizing innovative designs while drawing on the rich history of the company, the new guitars include the genre-specific Menace and New Century models, the high-performance GT line, Las Vegas–themed semi-hollowbodies, and the beautiful and functional Vixen and Goddess series, among others. Designed to encourage and meet the needs of female guitarists, the Vixen and Goddess are high-quality, professional guitars with lighter bodies and slimmer necks. Available in eye-catching new colors, the Vixen and Goddess are available as both Les Pauls and SGs. With lightweight designs and fast-action necks, the models feature powerful 490R and 498T humbuckers for all the performance and tone that Gibson is known for. Comfortable, beautiful, and powerful, the Vixen and Goddess will prove to be exciting new options for all players.

Made by musicians for musicians, the guitars of the GT series are tough, road-ready, and versatile. Built to maximize the tonal options available to a working guitarist, the GTs feature push/pull pots on coil-split 490R and 498T humbuckers, independent volume controls in the middle position, and a high-pass tone filter. Add to that sonic palette a dual truss rod with extra neck reinforcement, a Neutrik™ jack lock, and Dunlop strap locks, and the GTs prove to be some of the most durable and adaptable guitars ever built.

Fans of glam rock and metal will love the flashy New Century models and the stark, punishing Menace series. Both models feature the high-powered 490R and 498T humbuckers. The New Century guitars are available in Les Paul, SG, Explorer, and Flying V body styles, all complete with full-faced mirror pickguards to catch stage lights. At the other end of the spectrum are the none-more-black Menaces, available as Les Pauls or SGs, with brass knuckle and fist inlays and tribal body routings. Both series offer total performance instruments for the most extreme players.

Swankier stylists won’t be able to resist the Vegas Standard and High Roller guitars. Drawing a cue from Sin City itself, the poker-themed flat top semi-hollowbodies feature 60s slim-taper necks, ’57 Classic pickups, rosewood fingerboards, and gold frets. Vegas, baby, Vegas!

Gibson USA rounds out its NAMM offerings with two guitars that update the company’s rich, time-tested history: the Les Paul DC Pro and the Les Paul Studio Premium Plus. Both feature beautiful, AAA maple tops. The DC Pro offers the vintage PAF tone of Gibson’s excellent Burstbucker Pro pickups, while the Studio Premium plus comes equipped with the powerful 490R and 498T humbuckers. With stunning looks and unparalleled tone, both guitars demonstrate the ability of Gibson USA to set the pace for innovation while honoring the most beloved guitar styles ever created.
