Just about everyone has heard about the hit TV show American Idol, and now American Idol producer Simon Cowell has introduced a new show, America’s Got Talent. The show searches through all kinds of talent, from singing to comedians and magicians. The prize at stake is a juicy $1,000,000.

To lay the backdrop for all this singing and dancing, they need music, and that’s where BEHRINGER endorser Del Atkins comes in. Atkins, an industry veteran of bass and musical direction was selected to crank out the bass of the new show after standing in a few times for his friends at American Idol. It’s no wonder they picked him, after working with artists in the magnitude of Norah Jones, Alicia Keys, Mary J. Blige and James Ingram, and Seal to Jessica Simpson, he has musical skills necessary for the high profile gig.

On top of this TV and touring success, Atkins recently released his new CD Bassic Instinct, full of excellent melodies and grooves comprised of bass sounds that surpass the traditional, yet accompanied by mainstream bass tones. Many of the sounds came from Atkins venturing into the world of bass tone modeling with BEHRINGER’s BASS V-AMP PRO and the power of the EUROPOWER EP2500 amp, finding that sometimes a non-traditional bass head can offer him creativity to inspire. Speaking of new tones and touring Atkins states, "I like to play with effects and the V-Amp Pro has been a road worthy good sounding bass pre-amp and effects in one box".
