Peter Frampton and C.F. Martin & Co. Donate to Musicares MAP Fund

Peter Frampton and C.F. Martin & Co. have announced they will donate a portion of the proceeds from each D-42 Peter Frampton "Frampton's Camel" Signature Edition guitar to benefit the Musicares MAP FundSM. Chosen by Peter, the Musicares MAP Fund provides members of the music community access to addiction recovery treatment regardless of their financial situation. To date, Martin Guitar has contributed $2 million to artist designated charities through their Limited Edition Signature Model program.

Martin Guitar and Peter Frampton recently introduced the D-42 Peter Frampton "Frampton's Camel" Signature Edition guitar. In 1973, Frampton wrote and recorded his legendary "Frampton's Camel" album with his Martin D-45. Subsequently, the instrument was stolen. Over 30 years later, Martin has created a new guitar for Peter, paying tribute to his talent and influence.

About Martin Guitar:

Founded in 1833 by Christian Frederick Martin, C.F. Martin & Co. has been continuously family owned and operated for six generations. The oldest surviving acoustic instrument producer in the world, Martin guitars are hand-made by skilled craftsmen and women, many still using the design and techniques introduced by the company founder in the 1830s. The privately held manufacturer is acknowledged as the creator of some of the world's finest musical instruments. Martin innovations include the now-standard x-bracing, the 14-fret guitar and the "dreadnought" size. Current Chairman and CEO Christian Frederick Martin, IV, took the helm of the company in 1986. The seventh generation Martin was recently born to Chris Martin IV and his wife Diane in 2004.
