Peavey is helping spread messages of
good will on “The Messengers,” The Learning Channel’s new reality television show.
Taking its cue from history's great orators—such as Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy and Martin
Luther King Jr., who used their gifts to deliver meaningful and moving messages—"The
Messengers" is a reality show dedicated to finding the next great inspirational speaker, and about
motivating through the power of the spoken word to make positive changes in the world.
Each episode of “The Messengers” places a group of speakers in situations where they experience
life through another person’s circumstances, then deliver speeches based on what they learned. At
the end of each mission, the group gets a speaking topic—one simple word, such as Hope,
Perseverance or Forgiveness—to use as the basis for their speeches. One aspiring speaker is
eliminated each episode until the winner is crowned and awarded a book publishing deal and the
opportunity to host a television special on TLC.
Peavey, a leading music and sound products manufacturer with a 41-year legacy of empowering
artists and communicators in the performing arts and beyond, has contributed an assortment of its
loudspeakers for “The Messengers” set.
“The Peavey name is recognized for quality and power,” said Josh Peters, product placement
coordinator for the reality show, “and excellent sound quality is what Peavey brings to ‘The Messengers.’ Some of our contestants have softer speaking voices than others, and Peavey
equipment helps them all sound their best.”
Peavey will likely play an even greater role in the production of season two of “The Messengers,”
when the producers incorporate the company’s popular Messenger® portable P.A. system.
“We developed the Peavey Messenger as an all-in-one, completely portable sound system for
meetings, small music performances and, of course, speeches,” said Tony Moscal, Senior Manager
of Marketing and Product Development at Peavey. “Its combination of small size, light weight and
power make it a perfect traveling companion for contestants on ‘The Messengers.’”
Designed with the compact size and carry-on convenience of a briefcase, the Peavey Messenger is
portable enough for business travelers and features the robust power necessary for an endless array
of applications, from office presentations and meetings to karaoke and open-mic performances. Its
top lid even functions as a lectern to hold meeting notes or song lyrics.
“The Messengers” airs on The Learning Channel (TLC), Wednesdays at 10 p.m. Eastern/9 p.m.
Central.
