STAGEPAS 500: The new benchmark in compact PA

Yamaha introduces the STAGEPAS 500 portable PA system at Winter NAMM 2007. Like its smaller counterpart, the market-leading STAGEPAS 300, STAGEPAS 500 delivers unparalleled audio performance in an ultra-compact, professional package that provides extremely flexible input capability and simple operation.

"The success of STAGEPAS 300 for both voice and music reinforcement generated countless suggestions from dealers and end users about what should come next," said Wayne Hrabak, marketing manager, Live Sound, Yamaha Pro Audio & Combo Division. "STAGEPAS 500 is the result of that input."

The 500-watt, 10-input, portable stereo STAGEPAS 500 is perfect for schools, churches, corporate multimedia presentations, solo performers, keyboardists and small musical ensembles. The system, which offers optional rolling carrying cases (YBSP500), is designed for ease of use, even for those who do not consider themselves to be sound experts.

STAGEPAS 500 features two 2-way loudspeakers and a ten-channel stereo powered mixer. Each speaker contains a 10-in. woofer and 1-in. compression driver, driven by an efficient 250-watt (x2) Class D amplifier. The mixer features balanced XLR connectors, mic/line switches and balanced 1/4-in. jacks, 2-band channel EQ and switch-able 24-bit digital reverb. The first two channels feature a Compressor/Limiter switch that controls dynamics on those inputs.

Stereo-out, monitor connections and RCA connectors with separate level control for a tape recorder or a CD are located on the front panel. For convenience, both high-impact molded speaker enclosures include 35mm pole sockets for easy stand mounting and the units also include rear compartments that house the mixer in the back of one speaker, while cabling and other accessories can be stowed in the storage panel of the other speaker. Optional accessories include the YBSP500 rolling carry case (one required for each speaker) and the BMS10A mic stand adapter for the STAGEPAS 500 mixer.

"The STAGEPAS 500 is deceptively small compared to its audio output," said John Schauer, product manager, Live Sound, Yamaha Pro Audio & Combo Division. "Users will also appreciate its light weight, convenient storage spaces and easy operation."

STAGEPAS 500 is scheduled to ship in January 2007.
