Peavey Feedback Ferret Wins Blue Ribbon Award! Press Release 2002-06-03
The Feedback Ferret( by Peavey Electronics, a leading manufacturer of musical and professional sound equipment worldwide, is the recipient of EQ Magazine's 2002 Blue Ribbon Award for Best Live Sound Signal Processor. The unit, which beat out hundreds of other new products in the category, features 16 digitally dynamic filters, a panic filter for sudden, unexpected feedback, four user presets, a function to lock current filter settings and a front-panel disable switch.
"We are honored to have the industry recognize the Feedback Ferret with the coveted Blue Ribbon Award," says Hartley Peavey, CEO of Peavey Electronics. "Before the introduction of the Feedback Ferret, feedback eliminators typically produced a dull, muddying tone. At Peavey, we have worked long and hard to make sure our product produces a crisp, clear sound. To have our efforts achieve such recognition is very gratifying."
The Feedback Ferret applies a narrow notch filter on specific problem frequencies to eliminate feedback without sacrificing tonal quality. The device continuously checks and rechecks the designated problem frequencies and then releases the filter when it no longer detects feedback.
This design allows the Ferret to apply the right amount of filtration to guarantee that the sound will not become muddied. The single rack-space device also features power-up recall function, 1/4" RTS and XLR connectors, +4 and -10 switches on each in/out, an internal power supply and a simple "plug and play" operation.
EQ's editors chose the 11th annual Blue Ribbon winners from among the new products introduced at the fall AES 2001 and winter NAMM 2002 conventions. EQ awarded Blue Ribbons in 20 categories.
