Elixir® Strings, the pioneer of long-life string technology, has been honored with a third consecutive Musikmesse International Press Award (MIPA) for its Anti-Rust Plated Plain Steel Strings. MIPA awards represent the opinion of a broad group of international magazine editors, demonstrating universal recognition for Elixir® Strings Anti-Rust strings.
Musikmesse, held in Frankfurt, Germany, is a global music products trade show that brings together more than 300 international representatives of manufacturers and distributors of musical instruments and audio equipment. MIPA, awarded annually at Musikmesse, is one of the most coveted trophies in the musical instrument industry and is referred to as the "Grammy" for musical instruments.
“It is an honor to accept this third consecutive MIPA for the best guitar strings and we are proud of our achievement,” comments Craig Theorin, Elixir® Strings product manager.
With Elixir® Strings Anti-Rust Plated Plain Steel Strings and the recently introduced Anti-Rust Plated Plain Steel Strings for acoustic guitar, guitarists no longer need worry about the amount of sweat they pour into their music. These innovative strings have the feel and sound of traditional strings, but last up to five times longer without corroding. The secret behind Elixir® Strings new Anti-Rust Plated Steels is its proprietary alloy plating that inhibits tone-killing corrosion. Although the new strings last up to five times longer without corroding, they maintain a traditional metallic feel with a crisp, clean tone.
With this MIPA, Elixir® Strings has been recognized for excellence yet again. In 2006, Elixir® Strings Electric Bass Strings with Nanoweb Coating won a MIPA in the Bass Strings category; and in 2005, Elixir® Strings’ innovative NANOWEB® Coating was recognized in the Guitar String category.
Together, these awards show both the critical acclaim and player popularity of Elixir® Strings and represent milestones in a great and exciting success story.
