Audio-Technica's AT8539 Power Module Provides Audio and Video Professionals Added Flexibility in the Field

Press Release

2007-10-21

Audio-Technica has introduced its AT8539 power module which allows any Audio-Technica “cW” Wireless Essentials® microphone with 4-pin locking connector to be used in a wired configuration. Designed to offer audio and video production professionals even greater versatility, the AT8539 permits switching from wireless to wired audio acquisition using the same microphone, eliminating the need to carry two separate mics (wired and wireless) into the field. It also allows production facilities to standardize on microphones for studio (wired) and field (wireless) use.

“I look at the AT8539 power module as an insurance policy for the audio or video production professional who instantly needs to convert their wireless mic to a hard-wired configuration,” stated Steve Savanyu, Audio-Technica Marketing Manager. “The AT8539 provides a back-up plan for the engineer faced with a highly congested RF environment, a set of depleted batteries, or other issues. This is a cost-effective solution that makes a great tool for a field production kit.”

The Audio-Technica AT8539 power module is now available at a U.S. MSRP of $129.00.

**“White space” refers to the portions of the TV broadcast frequency spectrum that will be available after the federally mandated February, 2009 transition to digital TV. With the transition, a variety of unlicensed consumer devices, as well as proposed wireless broadband services, may be allowed to operate in these white space areas. Should this happen, wireless products used in live audio production, newsrooms, sporting events, boardrooms and other applications may not be able to operate without interference. Digital TV signals in some areas might also be affected by white space interference. Legislation is currently pending.

Celebrating over 45 years of audio excellence worldwide, Audio-Technica is a leading innovator in transducer technology, renowned for the design and manufacture of microphones, wireless microphones, headphones, mixers, and electronics for the audio industry.
