CA Guitars Unveils AT-6 Alternate Tuning Guitar Press Release 2002-09-07
CA Guitars introduces a new acoustic guitar design incorporating a 28" scale length with a 12-fret-to-the-body neck, allowing players to tune down without significantly altering their left-hand position. In addition to the standard dreadnought body length, the AT-6(tm) features an all-new Acoustic Tailoring(tm) formulation - Deep 6(tm). After gathering feedback from artists about the need for a guitar specifically designed for alternate tunings, CA chose to meld the advantages that composite materials bring in scale length and stability while respecting the classic fundamentals of guitar building.
Merging vintage guitar design with high-tech materials, CA delivers a revolutionary guitar that has the tone and soul of much older, revered instrument designs. The guitar's 12-fret to body construction incorporates a patented composite materials neck with a new carbon composite fingerboard. The AT-6(tm) uses a tailpiece in conjunction with new top and bracing formulations that allows for rich, full tone at lower pitches.
With its increased tuning range, the AT-6(tm) is also well suited for those who utilize different capo techniques. Those players who utilize double and/or partial capos now have an instrument that will open a myriad of tuning possibilities and access to songs in different key signatures.
The Player Price for the AT-6(tm) is $1699.99. CA's Player Price takes the "hassle and haggle" out of purchasing a guitar. The price for a CA guitar or bass guitar will be consistent from dealer to dealer, regardless of their location or size.
Headquartered in Lafayette, LA, CA Guitars is the leader in composite materials technology for the musical instrument industry. Using advanced aerospace materials and manufacturing techniques, CA Guitars replaces wood as a major component in acoustic guitars with their patented Acoustically Tailored Composite Technology (ATC).
