R. Taylor Guitars Celebrates Third Year, Introduces New Model

ANAHEIM, Calif. - January 16, 2009 - In 2006, Bob Taylor handpicked four elite luthiers, each with a minimum of ten years of experience, to join him at the R.Taylor studio. Working alongside Taylor, and with sandpaper and chisel in hand, the luthiers set out to handcraft a limited number of guitars from the finest tone woods and most exceptional materials available.

Now in its third year, the R. Taylor studio is thriving at a production level of 300 guitars annually, while retaining a luthier's attuned reverence to the most minute of details. Each R. Taylor guitar is constructed with solid non-kerfed lining, as well as hand-shaped and matched Sitka or Adirondack spruce bracing; details that provide exceptional definition and resonance for the most discerning of players. R. Taylor also boasts an impressive supply of the world's most sought after tone woods and as available, procures unique tones for the line.

Upon the company's third anniversary, R. Taylor has introduced a third body style: Style 3. The Style 3 is a classic, yet tailored, refined Dreadnaught body designed by luthiers and musicians to capture volume, and projection, while punching out a rumbling low end that transcends all genres. The Style 3 features the Modified X bracing pattern and a top geometry at 65-foot radius that lends to a wide berth of dynamic response. Available in a standard model size, the guitar offers both depth and potent highs to players seeking musicality across all spectrums.

R. Taylor also offers two other body styles with their own ample tonal qualities, Style 1 and Style 2. Style 1 offers a full-bodied shape that is robust, responsive, and available as either with a standard or short scale, with additional choices in top geometry as a flat or a 65-foot radius, and a choice of Modified X or Asymmetrical X soundboard bracing. Style 2 offers outstanding note definition through the entire fingerboard, exquisite sustain and chords that bloom, translating into a pallet of options. Style 2 is only available in short scale, with either a standard or slotted peghead, and features the X bracing pattern with a 65-foot radius top.

Select R.Taylor guitar models are available or can be custom ordered through a limited network of domestic dealers. To view the complete menu of options, please visit R. Taylor booth at NAMM, located in Hall E, Booth #1726 or online at www.rtaylorguitars.com
