Pharaoh Amplifiers has announced two new pedals to their line of handmade stompboxes. The Uptown Fuzz and Sweet Cheetah 2 join the Class-A Boost Pro to round out the Pharaoh Amplifiers line, providing fuzz and distortion effects for the musician.
The new pedals were introduced as a result of customer input and requests, and feature true bypass switching and compact aluminum enclosures for optimum pedalboard compatibility. Standard 2.1mm DC power jacks and high-brightness LEDs are included to make stage use easy for the gigging musician.
The Uptown Fuzz is an adaptation of a fuzz design originally built for pedal steel players. The Uptown Fuzz features:
Hybrid Germanium / Silicon fuzz circuit ensures temperature stability, low noise, and superior performance with wah pedals.
Attack control allows the fuzz to be dialed in to match the output level and pick attack of the guitar and player.
Tone control allows the player to tailor the low- and low-mid frequencies to taste, and makes for easy tone selection with a variety of guitars and amps.
Heavy-duty construction with sealed aluminum enclosure, custom-made bypass switch, isolated DC power input, Switchcraft jacks and full-sized pots
The Sweet Cheetah 2 is a high-gain distortion device suitable for hard rock and metal players. Its approach uses a special integrated circuit selected especially for its unique distortion properties. The Sweet Cheetah 2 features:
Low-noise IC construction using a special distortion amplifier and a user-selectable input / output stage. A JRC4558 IC is installed at the factory, but hundreds of other ICs are available - each has its own signature tone.
High gain design covers the sonic territory between "crunch" and "scream." The Sweet Cheetah 2 also has a high output level and can be dialed in to provide a clean boost.
Heavy-duty construction with sealed aluminum enclosure, custom-made bypass switch, isolated DC power input, Switchcraft jacks and full-sized pots
