created a new Christmas CD entitled "Christmas Sky" for the 2002
Holiday Season. Jordan is recognized as one of America's leading
contemporary keyboard composers, as well as keyboardist
extraordinaire with the rock band DREAM THEATER.
"Christmas Sky" features Jordan's unique style of piano and harp-like
improvisations all based on classic Christmas melodies. The CD also
includes one original Jordan Rudess Holiday Season composition.
Jordan wrote and recorded "Christmas Sky" between November 18 and
25th, 2002. An amazing feat considering Jordan had returned the
previous day from one-week vacation with his family after touring
both the United States and Europe twice since January 2002, in
support of DREAM THEATER's most recent studio release, "Six Degrees
Of Inner Turbulence."
Jordan states, "When I returned home from the Dream Theater Inner
Tourbulence world tour, instead of relaxing and taking some time off,
the Christmas spirit became overwhelming. So much so, that I felt
passionately led back to my studio with the inspiration in mind to
record my own versions of popular Christmas songs."
Jordan Rudess first gained national exposure when the readers of
KEYBOARD MAGAZINE voted him "1994's Best New Talent" in the Overall
Best Keyboardist category after his first solo release "LISTEN."
