An OMG! moment from Ernie Ball Music Man: Classic SR Bass

Early news from Winter NAMM 2010, which opened Thursday, Jan. 14, is stunning! Ernie Ball Music Man will be releasing a Classic Sting Ray 5 string bass. Sterling Ball posted pix of the new models on the Ernie Ball website forums, and the pix are amazing. Information is still coming through, but I couldn't wait to give a few teasers about this bass, which is something I've been looking for since the Sting Ray debuted in the mid-1970s. Yes, there is already a Sting Ray 5, but its body style, pickguard and control layout look nothing like the original, dearly loved Sting Ray 4. But the Classic SR5 DOES! -- oval pickguard, two-band EQ and individual string mutes. OMG! OMG!

I'll have more about pricing and availability as it becomes available. In the meantime, drool on!
