SE Electronics, which introduced the highly popular SE-series at last winter's NAMM show, is capitalizing on its great market reception with the launch of it's new Z and updated SE-series condenser microphones. Aggressively priced from $249 to $649, the Z-series is designed to deliver versatility and detailed response, giving users more mic for their buck.
The Z-series is an ideal solution for recording lead and backup vocals, acoustic instruments and amplifiers. Targeted for professional, project and home studio engineers and everyday users, the lineup consists of the flagship Z5600, Z3300, Z2200 and Z1100.
"SE Electronics brings the power and quality of professional studio mics to the everyday recording artist and musician," said Belinda Lee at SE Electronics. "Capturing pure, high quality sound is the most critical step in the recording process. Our new Z-series lineup offers more detailed bottom-end response and higher sensitivity at price points that are affordable to a much wider audience of musicians, professionals, home studio users and even commercial and broadcast engineers."
The Z5600 is designed for vocals, solo and chorus, as well as instrument, acoustic and amplified. It is ideal for professional, project and home studio applications. It employs a replaceable vacuum tube that features a nine-point polar pattern selector switch on its custom power supply. It offers a super-large 1.07-inch 24K gold-sputtered diaphragm for a fatter bottom-end response and higher sensitivity. The extended frequency response is 20Hz to 20KHz. Self noise is low at 16dB A- weighted. MSRP is $649.
The Z3300 and Z2200 are targeted toward commercial and home studio engineers and are designed for vocals and a variety of amplified and acoustic instruments.
The Z3300 is a versatile project and home studio workhorse that features a super large 1.07-inch twin diaphragm. The Z3300 offers a large dynamic range and warm sound as well as a choice of three polar patterns. The microphone features a super-clean, class A FET preamp to ensure transparent, low noise performance. The frequency response is 20Hz to 20KHz and boasts an equivalent noise level of 18dB A-weighted. MSRP is $375.
The Z2200 is related to the Z3300, but instead of offering polar patterns, the Z2200 offers the convenience of a 100HZ bass roll-off switch and a -10dB pad. MSRP is $315.
The new Z1100 also features a precision 1.07-inch gold-sputtered diaphragm. It offers a fixed cardioid polar pattern with a frequency response of 10Hz to 20KHz. It features class A FET electronics which provides a wide frequency response, smooth response curve, large dynamic range and low distortion. The equivalent noise level is 18dV A-weighted. MSRP is $249.
All microphones include a professional-grade external shock mount and offer optional hard cases for secure transportation.
