Cakewalk introduces new products for 2010

Cakewalk, makers of recording software, interfaces ans keyboards, rolled out several new products at Winter NAMM 2010.

Firewire interface

The new FA-66 (pictured) is a FireWire 400/800 interface with 6 inputs and outputs at 24-bit, 96kHz quality, or 4 ins and outs at 192kHz. The FA-66 has two XLR/TRS combo inputs with phantom-powered preamps, a 1/4" input and two RCA inputs. Rapture LE, Sound Center and Studio Instruments Drums are bundled with the FA-66.

On the go

Mobile Studio Canvas operates as both an audio/MIDI interface and a playback tool for MP3, WAV, AIFF or MIDI files that users have loaded onto a USB drive. Looping, chorus and reverb, key and tempo changes and a karaoke mode are also featured. Canvas comes loaded with 1,125 sounds, has two inputs and outputs, XLR inputs for phantom-power, and a 1/4" input. V-Link support allows the use of some video hardware.

A-Pro MIDI keyboards

These USB-based units are the A-300 Pro, A-500 Pro and A-800 Pro, which have 32, 49 and 61 keys, respectively. The keyboards are Mac- and Windows-compatible and come with software, including Sonar 8.5 LE (Windows only), Rapture LE and Studio Instruments Drums.

All products are expected to be in stores by April 2010. Pricing information was not immediately available.
