NAMM Update: The New Boss GT-6 !

The latest in the series of GT multi-processors is once again a work of art. Boss has thrown everything in but the kitchen sink on this unit and as you've come to expect from these guys - it's built like a tank and the quality of tone is first rate. Our demo at the Boss booth was pretty sweet. One of the most impressive features was the Wah modeling. The demo guy blasted through some impressive licks and riffs with everything from a Vox wah model to a Crybaby. To our surprise, you could tell the difference right away between the tones.

That's not all this unit has to offer, though. It's COSM modeling engine is capable of just about any effect that you'd need in your arsenal, not to mention excellent modeling characteristics. Check out the official word from Boss below:

From its striking gold chassis to its lavish array of knobs and pedals, BOSS has outdone itself again with the new GT-6 Guitar Effects Processor. And that's just what's on the outside, because under the hood is the most advanced COSM modeling engine ever created-complete with 30 amp models, plus all-new COSM Distortion/Overdrive Pedal Modeling and Wah Modeling. Add to this all-new effects like "Uni-V" and "De-Fretter," plus superb 24-bit sound quality, and you've got the most powerful floor-based multiple effects processor in history.

  • Flagship floor-based guitar effects processor with advanced COSM preamp
  • 24-bit converters and coaxial digital output for recording applications
  • 30 COSM amp models, plus new Distortion/Overdrive Pedal Modeling (15 types) and Wah Modeling (5 types)
  • 340 effects programs-more than any other pedal in its class!
  • Customize function for creating new amp types, distortion and wah pedals
  • Easy, analog-style control; 15 knobs for editing commonly used parameters
  • New "Uni-V" and "De-Fretter" effects, plus improved Feedback Modeling
  • EZ Tone feature for creating custom patches based on 30 templates
  • Built-in Expression and Control pedals for realtime control of effects
