Sonically, as well as creatively, SONICFLOOd was able to utilize a variety of Waves software on Cry Holy, pulling from the vast capabilities afforded by the Waves Restoration and Gold Bundles, as well as using the Renaissance Collection for final touches during post production. “The natural transparency and artifact-free operation of the Waves plug-ins we use in the studio are nothing short of a miracle,” stated Scott Heyniger, recording and touring monitor engineer for SONICFLOOd. “The L1 Ultramaximizer has also become an integral part of my work with the band — assuring maximum gain and resolution without the dreaded digital ‘over’ that you often get when pushing digitally recorded tracks to their limit,” Heyniger added. “They’re really indispensable tools that I wouldn’t want to work without.” The importance of the overall sound of Cry Holy also plays a large role in the band’s personal agenda. “Through their diverse products and the generous support from the people at Waves, we were able to produce a polished and contemporary sound for the new album,” commented bassist Tom Michael. “It really helps to spread our message when we can have such a top-quality sounding record to help get the word out — and the fans really appreciate that also. Whether it’s a demo or a master, Waves takes the sonic quality of any track from simply good to amazing.” For more information about SONICFLOOd and the upcoming album release, please visit www.sonicflood.com. |
