Korg Founder, Tsutomu Katoh, Inducted Into Guitar Center Hollywood RockWalk!

Crowning 40 years of musical instrument innovation and achievement, Korg's Founder and Chairman, Tsutomu Katoh, was recently inducted into Guitar Center’s Hollywood RockWalk®. Keyboard legends and long-time Korg endorsers, Joe Zawinul and Herbie Hancock, were also inducted during a ceremony held the week of the 2003 Winter NAMM Show. All three were immortalized as they cast their handprints and signatures into the legendary RockWalk that encircles Guitar Center’s Sunset Strip location.

The gala event attracted guests representing the City of Los Angeles, the Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation, Los Angeles radio and television stations, and members of the music industry press. Korg USA President Mike Kovins stated, “It is very gratifying to see the founder of Korg honored in this fashion and recognized for his contribution to the way modern music is created. Through this induction into the RockWalk, Tsutomu Katoh has secured his rightful place among that special group of individuals whose contributions have shaped popular music and culture.”

The RockWalk has honored such other diverse and accomplished individuals and groups as Aerosmith, Van Halen, Johnny Cash, Dick Clark, Willie Dixon, The Doobie Brothers, Jimi Hendrix, KISS, Les Paul, John Lee Hooker, The Moody Blues, Phil Ramone, and Smokey Robinson.
