Sam Rivers Powers Limp Bizkit With His Furman Sound Gear

As the bassist for Limp Bizkit, Sam Rivers drives one of the world’s most successful bands – but it’s Furman Sound power conditioners that drive Sam’s bass rig, even before he gets behind the wheel and starts the ignition. Sam states, “I’ve always used Furman Sound gear, even before Limp Bizkit hit it big. It’s the best power conditioning equipment and I have to have it in my rig!”
Limp Bizkit’s core rap/metal sound has been a mainstay from MTV to modern rock radio since the band’s 1999 smash-hit song, “Nookie.” Now in the studio recording Lessismore, their follow-up to 2000’s Chocolate Starfish and the Hotdog Flavored Water, Rivers and his Bizkit band mates are once again preparing to blow the roof off the nation.
Recently booked to perform with Metallica and Linkin Park on the 2003 Summer Sanitarium tour, Sam will be front and center on one of this year’s most highly visible concert stages. Regarding the Sanitarium tour Sam enthusiastically states, “I can’t wait! We haven’t toured in forever and to get on the Sanitarium tour with Metallica means we’ll be coming back with a bang! I was a Metallica fan when I was a kid, so it’s weird, incredible and amazing to go on tour with them.”
As always, Sam’s massive bass rig will include an extensive collection of Furman Sound power conditioning gear. Sam and his bass tech Al Rogo designed his bass backline around several Furman PL-PRO DM power conditioners. Sam states, “Al turned me on to using some of Furman’s new power conditioners designed for digital devices. As far as I’m concerned, Al knows everything about technology, so when he told me that I had to get the new Furman Sound PL-PRO DMs, I did!”
When Limp Bizkit is on tour it’s a major concern that absolutely nothing goes wrong. Therefore, Sam tours with two huge bass rigs, one specifically as a back-up, “Just in case,” Sam states - and hence the reason why Sam has four Furman power conditioners in each rig! Sam continues, “The one thing people say when they see my bass system is ‘damn, you have a lot of Furman power conditioners!’ Furman Sound is pretty much the standard, so everyone notices and respects the name.”
Aside from his bevy of power conditioners, Sam also trusts his gear and live performance to Furman PLUGLOCKS and ADP-1520, 20-amp socket to 15-amp plug adapter cords. Sam concludes, “Knowing that Furman Sound power conditioning is in my rack, I’m much more confident in my gear when it’s out on the road. There isn’t any other product that compares to Furman Sound power conditioners!”
