QNX technology is highly popular in the automotive infotainment
market, where it ships in more than 200 vehicle models. Brands such as
Acura, BMW, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Ford, GMC,
Infiniti, Honda, Hyundai, Jaguar, Jeep, Land Rover, Mazda, Mercedes,
Mitsubishi, Nissan, Toyota, and Volkswagen now use QNX technology as
the software foundation for their digital instrument clusters,
hands-free systems, multimedia head units, 3D navigation systems, or
rear-seat entertainment products.
The reliability of the QNX Neutrino RTOS comes from its true
microkernel architecture, which runs every driver, protocol stack,
file system and application in the safety of memory-protected user
space, outside the operating system kernel. As a result, individual
components can fail and be automatically restarted without affecting
other components or the kernel.
