Audio-Technica Debuts Three New Dual-Element Engineered Sound Microphones(Audio-Technica | Posted 2003-04-02) Audio-Technica is introducing new Engineered Sound® (ES) microphones at this NSCA Convention. Designed to complement the extensive range of Engineered Sound wired microphones and wireless microphone systems, the ES991 Dual-element Cardioid Condenser Gooseneck and ES993 and ES995 Dual-element Cardioid Condenser Rigid-pipe microphones provide contractors with premium sound quality and consistent, dependable performance. Designed especially for applications requiring separate miking for PA and broadcast, the new ES991, ES993, and ES995 offer the utmost in versatility when choosing components for installations such as boardrooms, schools, council chambers, courtrooms, and houses of worship.
The ES991 cardioid condenser gooseneck microphone is a dual-element condenser microphone with a cardioid polar pattern and an integral dual power module. Designed for quality sound reinforcement in demanding situations, the ES991 features a dual-element configuration with isolated circuit ground for each channel, thereby greatly reducing the potential for hum. Its small-diameter design with gooseneck segment permits flexible positioning while maintaining a smooth, contoured appearance. Featuring dual integral windscreens to ensure ultimate security against wind, noise, and plosives, the ES991 provides a frequency response of 90-15,000 Hz, has the ability to handle high SPL’s (138 dB, 1 kHz at 1% T.H.D.), and features a fixed low-frequency roll-off (120 Hz, 12 dB/octave) and a 15 dB pad switch. The ES991 plugs directly into a 6-pin XLRF-type panel jack, or may be mounted on a standard 5/8"-27 thread using the included stand clamp, and comes with a 30’ splitter cable
(6-pin XLRF-type to two 3-pin XLRM-type) for use in in-house and remote feeds. In addition, the integral power module can be powered from any external 11V to 52V DC phantom power supply. The ES991 comes in a low-reflective black finish, measures 21.57" (long) x 1.51" (head diameter) x 0.99" (base diameter), and weighs 8.8 oz.
The ES993 cardioid condenser rigid-pipe microphone is a dual-element condenser microphone with a cardioid polar pattern and a remote dual power module. The ES993 features a dual-element configuration with isolated circuit ground for each channel, dual integral windscreens, and has a frequency response of 90-15,000 Hz. The ES993 has the ability to handle high SPL’s (138 dB, 1 kHz at 1% T.H.D.) and includes a fixed low-frequency roll-off (120 Hz,
12 dB/octave) and a 15 dB pad switch. Because of its rigid-pipe design with ball-in-socket base, the ES993 permits flexible positioning and easily mounts to a table, desk, or podium with the included hardware. In addition, the ES993 also features a remote dual power module with two 3-pin XLRM-type output connectors for use with in-house and remote feeds, plus a remote mute switch with three modes (push-to-mute, toggle, push-to-talk) and LED indicator light. The ES993 comes in a low-reflective black finish, measures 18.50" (long) x 1.51" (head diameter), and weighs 12.0 oz.
The ES995 cardioid condenser rigid-pipe microphone is a dual-element condenser microphone with a cardioid polar pattern and an integral dual power module. The ES995 is intended for use on a flat surface, features a dual-element configuration with isolated circuit ground for each channel, dual integral windscreens, and has a frequency response of 90-15,000 Hz. The ES995 has the ability to handle high SPL’s (138 dB, 1 kHz at 1% T.H.D.) and includes a fixed low-frequency roll-off (120 Hz, 12 dB/octave) and a 15 dB pad switch. The ES995 has a sturdy metal desk stand base that houses a dual power module with 6-pin XLRM-type output connector that can be easily powered from any external 11V to 52V DC phantom power supply. An optional integral mute switch in the base offers three modes (push-to-mute, toggle, push-to-talk) and LED indicator light. Because of its rigid-pipe design with ball-in-socket base, the ES995 permits flexible positioning and comfortably sits on a table, desk, or podium. In addition, the ES995 comes with a 30’ splitter cable (6-pin XLRF-type to two 3-pin XLRM-type) for use in in-house and remote feeds. The ES995 comes in a low-reflective black finish, measures 19.51" (long) x 1.51" (head diameter), and weighs 3.31 lbs.
The ES991, ES993, and ES995 microphones are available immediately with MSRPs
