Mana Keyboardist Creates A Revolution Of Sound

Press Release

Posted 2003-05-21

Latin super-group Maná have worked hard to become an international success, earning numerous distinctions along the way. The multi-platinum group has won four GRAMMY® awards and sold more than 16 million albums worldwide. Their new album Revolución de Amor (Revolution of Love) features two of Latin music’s biggest stars, Rubén Blades and Carlos Santana. Juan Carlos Toribio has played keyboards on most of Maná’s albums and has been their touring keyboardist since 1994. A former musical director for such popular artists as Luis Miguel and Ricky Martin, Toribio knows the importance of finding reliable, creative instruments to help him get the sound he wants. In addition to the Korg Trinity Rack in his studio, Toribio uses a Korg Trinity and TRITON STUDIO while out on the road. Commenting on some TRITON STUDIO features, he says, “It has a great sampler, and it feels very complete live and in the studio. The TRITON STUDIO is simply wonderful,” Toribio continues. “It’s great to be able to directly control the speed of the Leslie effect and the sound of the filters in real time using the 4 assignable knobs.”

Toribio recently finished a project with Spanish singer Malu, who previously worked with Alejandro Sanz. You can also catch him playing with Maná on tour in Europe and the U.S. in support of their new album. For more information about Maná, visit www.mana.com.mx.
