Korg is now shipping the limited edition Middle Eastern version of their famous electronic drum pad, the Wavedrum. The Wavedrum Oriental was announced early this year and features the same technology existent on the original Wavedrum but offering an even bigger library that contains popular and accurate Middle Eastern percussive sounds.

The Wavedrum synthesis technology gives this unique instrument the capability of greatly simulate the most timber-complex percussive instruments such those found on traditional Middle Eastern culture. The Wavedrum Oriental comes with a collection of them, including sound libraries of Darabuka, Danhola, Drinkga, Sagat, Riq, Def, Tar, Bendir and many more. The number of preset programs has been increased from the original Wavedrum’s, and now stands at 150 editable preset programs (50 more than original Wavedrum), with 150 additional locations to store customized programs (50 more than the original Wavedrum). The Wavedrum Oriental’s appearance has also been enhanced aesthetically setting it apart from its original counterpart. Its body is a white tone reminiscent of a high-quality Darabukka’s ceramic body, complemented by a deep red wine-colored rim.

Korg’s Wavedrum Oriental is a perfect addition to those percussionists envisioning to broader their range of sounds through solely purchasing a single, compact and realistic sounding gear unit.
