
PEAVEY CO-SPONSORS SCOTTY'S 2003 INT'L. STEEL GUITAR CONVENTION

ST. LOUIS*Peavey Electronics Corporation and Scotty's Music of Overland, Mo., co-sponsored the 32nd annual International Steel Guitar Convention, held in St. Louis August 28 through August 31. The event attracted thousands of spectators, steel guitar enthusiasts and performers, including Peavey endorsers Sarah Jory and Jerry Brightman.
"We've used Peavey since our first convention in 1971, and their amplifiers have contributed greatly to making the convention a success," said DeWitt Scott, convention founder and owner of Scotty's Music. "The sound system ran very smoothly."
Peavey provided the convention sound system and backline*featuring 13
Nashville* 1000 steel guitar amplifiers, a KB®5 keyboard amp, MAX® and Pro Series* bass amps and a Classic* 50/212 guitar amp*and also hosted the convention's only amplifier demo room, where professional and amateur players alike could demo a variety of Peavey gear. Sarah Jory and Jerry Brightman both fielded questions about their Peavey gear from a capacity crowd and performed solo sets using Nashville amps.
The Peavey Demo Room featured the new Nashville 112, Classic® 30, XXL*, TransTube® 258 EFX and Ecoustic® EFX guitar amps; TNT® 115 bass amps; Wolfgang® and Generation* electric guitars; Briarwood* acoustic guitars; and Cirrus* and Grind* bass guitars.
Non-pedal steel guitarists performed in the Hawaiian Room, outfitted with an Escort® portable sound system, Impulse® 1015 loudspeaker enclosures, DeltaFex® and KOSMOS® processors and an XR® 696F powered mixer.
