AKG wins TEC Award for K 271 Studio Professional Headphones Press Release 2003-10-23
After having received numerous TEC Awards over the years in recognition of its achievements in microphone technology, AKG received this prestigious award this year for its K 271 Studio headphones. This year, only three days after Austrian-born Arnold Schwarzenegger became California's governor, another Austrian power, Vienna-based AKG Acoustics received the prestigious TEC Award 2003 for their brilliant K 271Studio headphones. The award was presented at a high-class ceremony at the New York Marriott Marquis on October 11. Presenters of the awards included music and recording legend Les Paul, Grammy awarded producer Bob Ludwig, bassists Will Lee and T.M. Stevens, famous recording engineers Al Schmitt, Chuck Ainlay and others.
The K 271 Studio headphones have been internationally-acclaimed and accepted by audio professionals because of their outstanding sonic quality, excellent wearing comfort, gorgeous styling, and manufacturing excellence. The TEC Award was accepted by Dr. Richard Barnert of the AKG headphone team in Vienna and Mike Torlone, market development manager of studio products and headphones, from AKG Nashville.
Two other outstanding AKG products were also nominated for TEC-Awards: the fully modular conferencing system CS2, and the best price/performance related WMS 40 Diversity Wireless Microphone System together with the matchless MicroTools.
The TEC Awards, presented annually by the Mix Foundation for Excellence in Audio and Mix magazine, recognizes new audio products that represent superior accomplishment in their respective classes. Products are nominated for TEC Awards by a selected panel of industry professionals and are voted on by over 40,000 subscribers of Mix magazine.
AKG's "Headphonators" promised "We'll be back".
