Due to an overwhelming response from both consumers and retailers, Fender Acoustics is proud to announce that it will develop its line of recent special run guitars into a complete line of acoustic instruments, which is to debut at this winter’s NAMM show. The new family, the Global Design Series, offers unique flavor to musicians looking for both flair and value in an acoustic guitar, along with the quality craftsmanship associated with Fender Acoustic Instruments.
With distinctive and beautiful finishes, the new Global Design Series continues to bring the exciting visual elements that have made Fender Acoustics’ recent special run guitars such a tremendous success. And with a wide range of body styles offering different sizes and tonal qualities, the Global Design Series is sure to appeal to all guitarists looking to expand their palette.
Says Ron Kronewitter, VP of Marketing for Fender Acoustics, “Both dealers and consumers have given us great responses to our special run acoustic guitars. The new Global Design Series expands several of these special run guitars into a series along with a variety of new instruments, each with a unique personality designed to appeal to a wide variety of guitarists.”
Two new Concert-style guitars head up the Global Design Series. Both the GDC-100 SCE with its soft cutaway and GDC-200 SCE with sharp cutaway, feature natural finished solid spruce tops. Highly figured stained ash backs and sides on both models add distinctive tone and visual character, and a rosewood fretboard with only a Fender “F” inlay on the twelfth complete this classically modern look. Both models feature die-cast tuning machines and Piezo pickup with electronics. US MSRP for both models is $571.40.
For a bit of color on an “OM” sized acoustic guitar, the Global Design Series offers the GDO-200 and GDO-300. The GDO-200 features a quilted ash top with a transparent violet finish, with matching ash back and sides, offering a warm tone that highlights the guitars mid-ranges. For a slightly brighter tone, the GDO-300 is made with a quilted maple top in a transparent amber finish, and matching mahogany back and sides. US MSRP for both models is $349.99.
Completing the new Global Design Series is the parlor sized GDP-100. The smaller body offers both a comfortable guitar to play and, with its mahogany back and sides, a tone unique to this body design. The GDP-100 comes in a natural finish with rosewood fretboard. As with all other guitars in the Global Design Series, the Fender “F” inlay will adorn the twelfth fret. US MSRP is $257.13.
The entire family of instruments in the new Fender Acoustic Global Design Series can be seen and heard for the first time at Fender’s booth this January at the NAMM show in Anaheim.
