New Showmaster From Fender(Fender | Posted 2003-12-08) Based on an overwhelming positive response from both consumers and retailers, Fender® Musical Instruments Corporation is proud to announce that it will expand its line of Showmaster® guitars this winter with the introduction of three new models. The new Showmaster guitars—featuring a choice of highly figured exotic wood or metallic finished carved tops—will be displayed for the first time at Fender’s NAMM booth in Anaheim.
The sleek new Showmaster guitars offer incredible versatility for guitarists who push their instrument to its limits, and who also appreciate the elegance and style of a finely crafted piece of art.
Stunning transparent finishes over quilted or flame tops highlight these beautiful guitars. Both the Showmaster HH Quilt and Showmaster SSS Quilt feature a basswood body with a carved quilted Bubinga top, which offers a tone unique to this exotic wood and comes with a Transparent Brown finish that shows off the figured details of the grain.
For players who prefer the tones associated with ash, the new Showmaster HH Flame and Showmaster SSS Flame comes equipped with carved flame ash top over basswood body and Cherry sunburst finish. Both options come with a matching finish headstock that completes the look.
To offer players a choice of pickup configurations, each of the new Showmaster guitars comes with two options. For high output players, there is a dual humbucking setup with a Seymour Duncan® SH-1N RP ’59 Reverse Polarity pickup in the neck position, and a SHPGP-1b Pearly Gates Plus pickup in the bridge position. For players who prefer single coils pickups, there is a three single coil setup with one Seymour Duncan SSL52-1 5-2 in the neck position, one SSL52-1 5-2 RwRp in the middle position, and one SSL52-1b 5-2 in the bridge position.
With players in mind who prefer a more sleek and modern look, the new Fender Showmaster HH Black Out™ guitar is an ideal choice. The Showmaster HH Blackout features the same basswood body and carved top and dual humbucking pickups of the figured models, but it comes with an edgier choice of either Atlantic Blue Metallic or Black finishes.
To get the most possible out of these instruments, the new Showmaster guitars feature a contoured set neck and 24 frets for access to the highest notes. Coupled with the twin pivot point tremolo bridge that comes standard on all of the new models, the new Showmaster guitars allow players an unlimited range of playability.
US MSRP for each of the new Showmaster models is 856.99. They can be seen and heard for the first time at Fender’s booth at this winter’s NAMM show in Anaheim, California.
